PROBLEMS OF COMICS TRANSLATION AS A POLYCODE TEXT

Abstract

The paper is focused on the problem of defining and identifying transformations in the process of translating lexical and stylistic devices of the comics as a polycode text. Comics is a unique type of text in which nonverbal elements are in close connection with verbal ones. This feature of the comics should be taken into consideration when translating. The main focus of the practice material analysis is translation errors that affect the interpretation of the text by the readers. The final part of the analysis provides the corrected translations by the authors of the research.
