ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUBTITLING AND PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATION FOR THE JUBILEE FILM “PETER'S CREATION” ABOUT PETER FROLOV

The article made at the intersection of translation theory, Altai regional studies and digital technologies, is devoted to analyzing the process of creating English-language subtitles for the historical film “Peter's Creation” about P.K. Frolov. The film is made in Russian and is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the great engineer and governor who played an important role in the development of Barnaul. The article analyzes technical aspects of using the Subtitle Edit program, translation strategies for archaisms, terminology and proper names. The work demonstrates the role of translation in popularising regional heritage for international audience.References
