Abstract

The article analyzes a school textbook of the Russian language, approved as a basic one by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan from the point of view of the transmission of gender stereotypes. Two aspects of gender stereotype are considered here- external data and personal qualities. As the conducted content analysis shows, the markers of the external data of women dominatein the representation of appearance, the markers of the characteristics of men dominate in the presentation of personality traits. Thus, it can be said that a stereotype is transmitted in a school textbook: for men, personal qualities are important but for women - external data.
