The study deals with the problem of adequacy and equivalence when working with various stylistic devices in literary text translation, with special attention to phonetic and graphic stylistic devices. The study identifies translation challenges in dealing with stylistic devices as well as ways of elimination of said challenges as illustrated by the examples taken from The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. The result of the research is the enumeration of the most effective translation strategies and solutions in dealing with stylistic devices. The practical significance of the study is the possibility of it being used by translators and researchers in a professional environment as well as for training future educators and translators in higher education institutions.References
