The article highlights specifics of the foundation and development of linguistic education within AltSPU: the authors reveal some significant periods in the history of the modern languages department and its successor, the linguistic institute of AltSPU. They point out structural changes in the process of building the modern image of the institute as a center of linguistic education and education in the field of intercultural communication, translation and second language teaching, and analyze the personnel potential of the institute.References
