MODERNIZATION IN AFGHANISTAN IN XX - EARLY XXI: HISTORIOGRAPHIC AND THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE RESEARCH

This paper aims to explore in the light of new theoretical approaches and practices with taking into account accomplishments of Russian and foreign historiography the phenomenon of modernization in Afghanistan in its classical and radical patterns within chronological range of XX - early XXI. Its noticed that Afghanistan for a long time, but with breaks, came through modernist and reformist experiments «from above», but under split of the Pashtun elite and growth of competing ethno-political forces, as well heavy foreign interference found itself in historical deadlock by the end of independence century of 1919-2019.References
