Museums of university history in south of Western Siberia as custodians and translators of historical and cultural heritage of the region

Abstract

The paper discusses the role of university history museums of South of Western Siberia in preservation of historical and cultural heritage of higher education. The research conducted by the author revealed the total number of museums of this type, stages of their formation, and the number of items kept in their principal funds. Phenomenon of museum collection on history of higher education institution lies in particular unity of tangible and intangible historical and cultural heritage accumulated in them, which forms a significant integral part in formations of modern Russian culture in general and regional one in particular.
