Experience of the museum activities of the Center of Oriental manuscripts and xylographs of the Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan

Abstract

The Center of Oriental manuscripts and xylographs of the Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian academy of sciences preserves unique written monuments in Tibetan, old Mongolian script, Buryat, Russian and old Church Slavonic languages, as well as archival documents and materials on the history of Russia, photographs, audio recordings. Regular exhibition work was started after moving all the collections and holdings into the new building in 1994. The first large exhibition was held in 1995. Over the last period in the exhibition hall of the COMX over 50 exhibitions devoted to significant historical events, anniversaries, as well as a variety of exhibitions reflecting the rich collections of the COMX have been conducted.
