The article presents the experience of analyzing digital political discourse. For a linguist, such an analysis is an analysis of language in action. The problem of research methods relevant to political communication studies is discussed: qualitative, quantitative, empirical, theoretical methods. Obviously relevant are various approaches to the study of discourse – rhetorical, digital and others. The research material is represented by diverse texts that constitute political discourse: articles from traditional and new media, political speeches, slogans, pre–election campaign handouts, posters, as well as discourse on discourse - bibliographic sources devoted to elections. This article discusses the slogans of Trumpists against the background of the ideology of Trumpism. Conclusions are drawn about the specifics of modern political discourse in the United States. The conclusion seems relevant for understanding both the phenomenon of political discourse itself and its modern form, as well as for evaluating research methods of this phenomenonDownloads
