The main objective of the journal is to promote the professionalization of education and research work in the field of education and science in Russian universities.
The journal is intended for scholars, academic staff, postgraduates, pedagogical university students, and secondary school teachers.
The journal founder is Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Altai State Pedagogical University”.
The journal publishes papers presenting results of original research in various fields of pedagogy, psychology and history.
Frequency of publication: 4 issues per year.
The journal is registered in the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor). Mass Media Registration Certificate PI No. FS77-62181 of June 26, 2015.
The journal is included into the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications approved by the Supreme Certification Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the seekers of the following Candidate and Doctoral degrees:

From 2001 to 2008, the journal was called “Vestnik Barnaulskogo Gosudarstvennogo Pedagogicheskogo Universiteta”, from 2009 to issue No. 2 of 2015 – “Vestnik Altayskoy Gosudarstvennoy Pedagogicheskoy Academii”, from No. 3 of 2015 – “Vestnik Altayskogo Gosudarstvennogo Pedagogicheskogo Universiteta”.
